Championship Series Rules |
|
Club members with dues paid up will be
automatically included in the Championship Series standings after completing
any of the 8 series races in the series. Prepaid entry in the Championship Series is
advised for your convenience and that of the race managers, but not required
to participate. (i.e. you can pay for
them one at a time) Your age group is based on your age as of January
1 and remains the same for the whole Series. Awards will be based on your best standings in 6
of the 8 Championship Series races.
*** The number of awards in an age group depends on
the number of participants in the age group who have qualified by completing 6
or more races. There will be 3 awards
for up to 6 qualifiers, 4 awards for 7or 8 qualifiers, and 5 awards for 9 or
more qualifiers. Duplicate awards are given for ties and don't
remove later places from the award sequence. If you are excluded from a race, check your
membership status to ensure it has not lapsed. Once included in the standings you get a 35 for
any missed series race. Runners listed in bold in the standings are potential
Ironmen, having done all Series races to date. To allow volunteers the opportunity to run the race
directors may organize a Workers Run. Workers Run participants must run the same course
as the actual race. Workers Run participants are placed last in their
age groups for a race. Per Board decision, Race Directors get credit for
doing a Workers Run even if they don't actually run it. The latest results are posted on our Web site:

Notes: The 10K race for the Series is the Father's Day
10K, not the Bay Bridge Run The 10M race for the Series is the Cherry Pit 10
Miler, not the Annapolis 10 Mile Run. To avoid confusion, please use the same name for
races that you used to join the club.
Thanks! For corrections or questions contact: Reggie Haseltine at rhaseltine@aol.com or (410) 721-3398. *** If for some reasons there are races cancelled the 6 of 8 becomes, 5 of 7 or 4 of 6 or 3 of 5. |
