Premium Volunteer Opportunity- You must act NOW!
The B&A Trail Marathon and Half-Marathon will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Numerous volunteer opportunities are available in connection with this race and you can apply for them on the race website on RunSignup. But I am writing today to call your attention to four very special premium volunteer opportunities that are now available. How would you like to be able to tell your friends that you are a member of the prestigious 2024 B&A Trail Truck Crew? This is a unique two-day volunteer opportunity. First, on Saturday, March 23, you will get to tour our club’s spacious West Street equipment storage facility where you will get to load up a U-Haul truck with supplies for the six aid stations on the race course (water, tables, Gatorade, etc.) as well as supplies for the start-finish line at Severna Park H.S. Then, on race day morning beginning at 6:00 AM, you get to visit the six aid stations on the course and deliver supplies, after which you can return to the school for a well-deserved cup of cold coffee or a can of warm coke. Post-race activities include once again visiting all the aid stations to pick up supplies and trash, and, in addition, you get to retrieve mile markers and other race course signage. As I’m sure you will agree, this is an offer you don’t want to sleep on. These positions are sure to fill quickly and you don’t want to miss out on your chance to be a B&A Trucker.
To apply, please email Tom Lyden at toml@annapolisstriders.org, or
call or text (240) 726-0207, or apply in person at the club social on
December 21st. Winning applicants will receive a coveted B&A Trail volunteer shirt left over from the 2020 race that was cancelled due to covid as well as all the premiums available to race participants.
